The younger Todd. I have been trying to get through to him but he does not listen.

I tried to talk to him and he misconstrued my words, again, and refused to listen.

[ The problem is there's a million things Damian could have said that's easy to misconstrue. His honesty is brutal, often cutting. But then he hadn't been raised to be gentle. He'd been raised to be a weapon and he can't just undo any of that, no matter how much Bruce wishes he could. He takes a moment to think about it and decides what Damian said didn't ultimately matter. ]

I haven't made much progress with him either. But I'll try speaking to him.

[ It's long overdue anyway. ]

( he's trying to help the other bruce. the one who hasn't had time to learn how to deal with todd yet. who is pushing himself too hard. who is too young to shoulder as much as he does. and todd, who will never move on unless he takes the first steps. who will live in his traumas, suffering, because he refuses to try to do anything else.

damian is trying to be a good robin. a good son, a good brother. but it's difficult when they refuse to listen. )
